My new computer will have two hard drives one for work and the other for games/internet surfing. Because the data on my work hard drive is very important I need to have it virus/spam free. I will have both sata hard drvies set up and connected at the same time, but I'd like to know, in the bios before start up if there is a way to disable certain drives so that it does not show in "my computer". For example, I like to have my work hard drive disabled when I want to surf the web or play online mp games. Keep in mind I'd have vista ultimate 64 bit installed on both hard drives. I know I could physically disconnect the hard drive I don't want to use but was wondering if there is an easier way without getting inside my computer everytime.

yeah well, it´s a little tricky since different mobos have different bios settings and options, u can try to disable the SATA channel controller of the hard drive u want. although u would have to enter the bios every time u want to switch HDs.

Maybe a hot-swap bay on the front of the case would be easier? Then you can just pull the drive out before starting the computer or whatever?

Maybe you can configure Windows hardware profiles in such a way that you can disable one of your HDDs.
Another option would be to set the permissions on the `work' drive so that only the `work' account can write to it/ read from it. This would require you to start using windows as a non-administrative user, which some people think is an insurmountable hurdle.
