disable Cool n' Quiet for OC?

To me, disabling Cool-N-Quiet is like keeping the gas pedal floored when you are stopped at a red light -- just a waste of energy.

The purpose of this feature is to reduce the power to your processor WHEN IT IS IDLING. Let me put it this way. With Cool-N-Quiet disabled, your computer can wait twice as much when you are typing in Word (or Open Office).

The only real time that this feature would hurt you is when you first start up a heavy process. It takes a certain amount of time for Windows to recognize that the heavy power is needed and to crank the speed up. This time can be measured in miliseconds. So, if you are measuring miliseconds, then it might make a difference.

As far as real-world tests, I doubt that it would make even 1 FPS difference in a game.

**EDIT**
One more thing. If you are tweaking your system and playing with the FSB, you should have CNQ disabled while you are trying to find your stable speeds. Once you have found a stable, rock-solid speed, turn CNQ back on.
