The game was initially says its unreleased but still I can still see it in my game list.

but somehow the game disappear today for no reason.. ( I used the ATI 5870 coupon )

then I used another coupon code from my other ATI 5870s, it says I already have the game, I dont need to use the code again.

I expect it to show on my game list again shortly after this message shows, but instead it starts downloading DiRT 2 :p

the game is about 10GB... I'll report shortly once I get the game working :D
 
k logged back into steam and it has a new release date of december 8th. ? and it is no longer in my list

yea, thats exactly happen to me... no idea why..

but enter another code makes it download right away :p
 
I knew it, Steam has changed the release date of DirT 2 to December 8, 2009. shansoft, I wonder how you're downloading it now?

I enter another coupon code in, then it says I already have the product.

after click "next" it says if you want to install the game...then I click it...its downloading now.

the downloading process will not show on steam list, but it is downloading in the background. I checked up my bandwidth its downloading really fast, and the files is also in steam folder :)
 
I've relogged in a few times now, and it hasn't reappeared in my list.
 
Activated it again, prompted to install, still not in the list, but the program folder is growing. *shrug*
 
FINISHED DOWNLOADING!!!

the game WORKS!!!!

but I have to play through steam folder, which I have to click on dirt2.exe to play
 
Mine disapeared too. I found the card with the code luckily and re-entered it. I got the same thing, code already redeemed, then i started to download the file, but it will not show it downloading.

So like you, I should have the game soon.
 
I activated it on steam and it was in the list as pre-release so I didn't forsee a need to keep it.
 
WTF, my Dirt 2 in Steam is now no where to be found?! I know it got delayed again, but why would they remove it from the games list? Previously it said "Not yet released". arg!

edit: thank god I didn't throw the coupon away. Now to find it..

I did the same thing..Fortunately,my seller was able to track the email he sent the code with and just resent it to me..Hows that for service after the sale..Im DLing it now..:cool:

Reactivate the code and do the install progress. You won't see it but it will be in your steam folder. Apparently after it is finished downloading it will be playable via the .exe in the folder.

This is happening to me as well. I'm looking at the task manager's networking tab, and my utilization is through the roof.. yet I see no download or Dirt 2. (this was directly after I re-entered the coupon and placed a DiRT 2 icon on my desk) :confused: :rolleyes:

Go into your actual steam folder to find it. steamapps/common/dirt2
 
bleh, I actually preordered the game(normally, not through voucher) so I guess I'm SoL for downloading it "early"

same here, purchased off steam directly... hope it reappears in my list.. I don't feel like giving them a call.
 
Yeah, what's up with the game disappearing? People in Europe are saying they can already download from Steam, so why can't everyone else? They just keep pushing it back.
 
People that can download it right now are the ones with coupons like the one that came with my 5850.

We're not complaining that we can't download. The game is not in our game list anymore. Before it was there and just "Not released". Now it's not there at all.

Just contact steam and they should be able to help. They can pull up purchase history you know?

The coupon works, but all users with the coupon or pre-purchase have it missing from their games tab. It's just the users with the coupon are able to download and play the game for some reason which I am totally fine with. :D
 
I got mine with a coupon, and did the download trick (putting in the key twice.) However, when I'm playing the game, GFWL doesn't accept my key, so I can't save my progress. Otherwise it's a pretty nice game. Looks great. I have a mixture of high and ultra (though I turned down driver, mirror, and distant car detail in favor of being able to use VSync without it dropping below 60. It's a lot of fun. The controls are nicer than other Codemasters games that I've played in the past. (They're usually a little fiddly for some reason.) Anyway, I like the game. Now I just want to be able to save.
 
I got mine to work without the coupon trick. However, since it's not officially released yet in the US, I can't log into Live and I can only play offline. It's a blast to play though.
 
Only had to put in my product key once and it looks like it is downloading.

Thanks OP for the heads up. This coupon has been burning a hole in my pocket for way too long!
 
can i get a file/folder count for a win7 successful "install" of dirt2 from someone?

Want to know when it's actually done. It hit 10.5GB, but was still missing critical files.
