hi, I'm running a 9500 pro, I used to have a ti4200(I traded it for the 9500 pro). I haven't really been playing games that often, but recently I just got back into half-life 1(non-source). I noticed that it doesn't run very well when on the direct3D mode as opposed to openGL. why? and what can I do about it? direct3D seems to look a lot better.

direct3d on HL imo looked really bad compared to the opengl option... and don;t worry why it runs so crappy in direct3d... my old 9800XT ran it with a 60ish fps.... not even 100 constant like the opengl mode....i'll test out my 6800ultra right now with HL in direct3d and ill give u results... brb

well my 6800ultra did better than my 9800xt.. 80ish fps.... and it doesn't look that great either compared to opengl mode... so in conclusion u should just run the game @ 1600x1200 max aa and max af in very high quality etc etc etc and enjoy it without using d3d..
