Digital out - Soundblaster Live!

I was wondering how to use the digital out on the soundblaster live card. I have the front panel but I want to use the back port on the card to get the digital out. A friend told me I could use a 3.5mm mono to RCA and plug that into my receivers SPDIF input. Anyone know if this is correct? Thank you.
