i'm looking to create a setup similar to what you would see in a DMV when you get your drivers license photo taken.

What I'm after is a TWAIN enabled digital camera that I can connect via USB so that the image can be imported via the TWAIN driver capability. I checked out the SLR line from Nikon and their support told me none of those cameras are twain-enabled.

Any suggestions for a camera that will work are appreciated, thanks!

Gonna need a price range and expected feature set... but at first glance, the Olympus line looks like it might be your best bet.

well its for work, i'd like to keep the price under $1000. The camera is going to be used to cataloging ~1000 small items. Obviously, higher quality is more desirable but it doesnt necessarly need to be an SLR camera or something on that high end of the spectrum. Going to check out the Olympus line now and see what they have, thanks.
