Goal: Trying to figure out which setting I should have the digital camera set to - printing out a 4x6 photo at best quality.

Users have the option to take a photo at:

2272 x 1704 Super-Fine JPEG
2272 x 1704 Fine JPEG
2272 x 1704 Normal JPEG
1600 x 1200 Super-Fine JPEG
1024 x 768 Super-Fine JPEG

Is 1024 x 768 fine for a 4x6 photo printout (main concern)?
I have no clue. Or should I go with the 2272 x 1704 Super-Fine?

Going to shoot photos and print out at Walmart. Would be aweful to see a 'Kodak-Moment' photo that does not come out to well.

always go higher res, b/c you can decrease size and not lose quality, however if you use a small image and resize larger, it will lose quality

im sure u know this, but better safe with a large than sorryw ith a small .... *looks down in my pants .... doh* j/k
:D

if you know that you will only be doing 4x6 then 1600x1200 is plenty. That's what I do my 4x6's at.

i do my 4x6 at 3372x2something or other :).

more res= more room to crop if you need to (especially if you have a digi cam from (4:3) which you will NEED to crop to get 2:3 ratio of your prints.
