Digital Camera For Around 350

Honestly you should be looking for a digital camera with Image Stability built in. There are a few from canon, fuji that have them built in. They are worth it's weight in gold.

can u link me

cool ur an austinite, but i dont really like those 2, i need a compact one, just to take around with friends and partys and such, the 2nd one is nice though i might look into that but my cousin has the casio one, and i like it but that canon one looks nice

I had the casio one, then I got the pentax WP. Man that thing is cool because you can go swimming with it and still take great pics. Plus it can be the life of the party since you can show it off by sticking in a glass of water while it is on. But IS is great, not only it stops blurring from hand movement (which I have a lot from my casio), it allows you to take decent pics in low light conditions, this is a area that most compact camera's fail at.

o i checked, my cousin has the 2nd casio lnik, the 7.2 mp one with the big ass screen

A friend has the fuji F10.

6.3 MP, and a 1/1.7 sensor with USEABLE 1600 ISO for low light situations.

The soon to be released F11 will add to the feature set with true Aperature priority, Shutter priority and Manual modes. If you can wait, I would highly recommend this camera. I was blown away with the F10's low light ability, considering its a 300.00 point and shoot. I would assume the F11 is similar.

yo i wanna thank you because u just found my new camera,
i was readng the review of the f10/f11 and blown away

but i heard f11 isnt gonna be released in US?!?!!

what does it mean when it says no viewfinder?

No viewfinder means exactly that - no view finder. No piece of glass through which you look to shoot your scene - everything is done through the LCD screen.

As batteries get better, there are more and more cameras dispensing with the viewfinder all together since most people use the LCD screens anyway. Saves space/weight on the camera.

I assume the F11 will be released in the US, but I haven't heard any details one way or the other.

cool i dont use it anyways, one more question
ive narrowed it down to the fuji f11 and the casio ex-s600

is the casio ex-s500 good?

hmm i think i might wait til 2006, jan, my birthday and see reviews on f11 and the casio

If your looking for a camera to take to parties and regular point and shoot I would reccomend a canon sd300 or sd400. One thing I have realized is that for a point and shoot camera 5mp is kinda too much. I have an sd300 and if I shoot pictures at superfine setting and max res the file size is 1-2 megs which is alot when you will probably be sharing pictures with friends alot. Also the canon is very fast in general. It turns on quick, takes the picture quick and saves it quick. Total time from power on to taking a picture can't possibly be more than 3 seconds, which is a huge plus in a party scene with spur of the moment antics. If you think you will be printing alot of stuff out go for the 7.1mp, but if you are going to be doing alot of point and shoot at parties and out with your friends, 4-5mp is all you are gonna need.

yea ima be printing too i mainly use it for parties and hanging out and such but sometimes its for family occasions and such so ima wait till 06 for the fuji f11 or casio ex-s600

I've got a Canon S1 IS it's amazing. Got some good expensive rechargable energizers (15 min recharge) and they last forever, even with heavy review. The LCD could be a tad larger as I think the S2 model has one bigger also with 5.1 as opposed to the S1 at 3.2. Although the S2's are about $425 I think. But the S1's are probably around $300 by now.

i needed a small and compact lil camera so ima get the s600 when its released next year thanks for all the inputs

if you want a small compact camera, i know that you want to wait a year but even then you'll just end up paying more.

the sd500 is sexy and very good quality, and it's about the size of my wallet:

the sd30 is even sexier... but the flash isn't that great and it's not very good for pictures past like 5 feet away (according to steve's reviews)

i always buy from beachcamera, they've usually got the best prices.
here are links to good sites with reviews:
http://www.dcresource.com/
http://www.steves-digicams.com/
http://www.dpreview.com/

you can also just google "model name" and "review" and the first 5 are usually from those 3 sites i just listed and other less well known sites...
good luck to you, i'm buying an sd500 around christmas when i get enough money to do so. was looking at the A620 but too bulky for my taste.

actually i need one asap but the s600 comes out around my birthday which is jan 9th
