Alright guys , my sister got a Digital camcorder for christmas and she is wanting to film with MMC cards or just plain tape, which way is the cheapest to go and what are the pros or cons with it, thankS!

I assume by digital you mean mini-DV?

Tape is the way to go. The memory cards have to be HUGE in order to store even a little bit of video. They're really meant to use the camera's still photo function.

The most important thing to remember is to pick a brand of tape and stick with it. Each brand has a somewhat different formula for the lubricants on the tape, and if you mix them you clog your heads a lot faster.

Rule of thumb for consumer use is that each tape can be used 10-20 times before the quality dips below acceptable levels.
