Difficulty with playing WMV Files

While websurfing, there are some sites that offer video clips that play well when clicked on (in wmv format), whiles others that used to work have stopped. When I click on them, I immediately get an "internet failed connection" screen that wasnt happening before.

What gives

I use Firefox and have to install a plugin for windows media videos, dunno if that applies to you?

I dunno what happenev, but I can copy and type the address from my desktop into my laptop and the videos work just fine. Im cool with it. Thanks!
