Differences between LCD Screens (TFT and all that stuff)

I've been reading a lot of stuff lately on how most/all 22" LCDs right now suck because they are all TFT-LCD panels or something, and how 24" displays, and even 20" displays, use better technology. Can someone elaborate on this please? Thanks.
 
You really need to read this to learn the differences http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1039222 it's a little out of date but still a good starting point. "TFT" isn't a separate panel type...all lcd's are referred to as TFT. The word you are looking for is "TN" (twisted nematic)...it's the most common panel type because it is cheaper and faster to make than the others.
