are there any real differences in thse manufacturers of the ultras? From the store im gona by from the XFX is totally outta stock, and i could wait, but the AOpen is in stock...

would i be losing out a bit or should i just grab the aopen?

thanks dudes

they're all basically the same card, but certain manufacturers are using 2.0ns RAM instead of 1.6ns on the Ultras.

The current crop of cards that are available are all Nvidia referance design provied by Nvidia themselvs (subcontractors) there are some different cooling solutions provided on a few cards IE the Leadtek cards and the BFG OC cards coming with waterblocks, the only card that I'm aware of that is actually built on there own board so far is the Gainward and it isn't available quite yet.

Right now it basicly boils down to which company has the better warranty and which one has shipping cards. PNY and BFG both have GT and Ultra level cards in the market albeit that the Ultra cards are rare, GT's are widely available, the NU's are also available in quanity.

Where are the GT's widely available? I've been looking for either a local or online store that has them in-stock and I haven't found one yet. My local CompUSA says "they aren’t even released yet" which is obviously not true ;) But other than that I've checked bestbuy, newegg, mwave, evga, zipzoomfly and a few stores from pricewatch.com. I'm trying to get mine before Doom3 comes out... My high hopes will once again be my downfall :p

I just did a bit of looking around and couldn't find em in stock but keep lookin im sure somebody will have a few.

I don't know if there is one near you, but Fry's has had a ton of the BFG 6800GT OCs in stock.

I wonder if the Fry's in Renton WA has any in stock?. Would hate to make a 2-3 hour round trip drive for nothing.

Call em and ask, might even be able to get em to hold one for you with a CC.

I've been to that frys, was up there last spring doing the vacation thing :)

they've been getting the cards from time to time. just call and ask if they've got any, and if they do ask them to put one on hold for you. no CC required.

This won't help you any right now, but they had a ton last Wednesday when I went and got mine. Then I went again on Sunday, and they were out again. After talking with the manager when I bought my card, it seems that when they go out of stock, they get more transferred in from a different store right away, so I would check back on a daily basis...I'm sure they'll get more in soon. Plus they had a sale on the BFG cards this weekend...only $397.99 instead of $399.99...don't ask me why they had a sale for $2.00 off...that's just what the sign on the shelf said.
