as i was looking to buy a new lcd i was comparing specs on the lcd's. why is it that 22" and 20" lcd's have the same resolution? wouldn't that make the 20" seem more sharp? i've mainly been looking for 22" just cuz it was bigger and the price has dropped so much on them, but are they really any better?

My Samsung 226BW (22") looks just as sharp and has more viewing space than my roomy's Samsung 206BW (20").

Both are fantastic monitors, and you wouldn't be unsatisfied with either of them.

If you want good image quality never go with 22'' since they are all TN panels...

Look at the sticky about TFT Panels if you don't know what a TN is (to lazy to explain or cut'n'paste sorry:p)

what's make 20" more sharp? you probably wanna see the pixel pitch,
the NEC 20wmgx has pixel pitch of 0.258,
but the 22" HP monitor has 0.28x pixel pitch,

the less number of pixel pitch you have the more sharp it would be. Am I right? ^^

Not with Windows.

If the pitch is any lower than 0.27 then the icons would be far too small for u to see.

I keep my 17" at 0.33 or 0.3 but never any less cause then i would have to view it from less than a foot away.

Statements of 22" TN panels not having good image quality are garbage. A TN panel may not be as good quality as a PVA or IPS panel but both the 19" and 22" TN panels I have owned both have good image quality. Games, movies and TV all look pretty damn good to me. :D I have seen both 20" and 22" panels @ 1680 x 1050 and can't tell a difference between the two. I game watch tv and movies and do a small amount of work on my PC and a TN panels works and looks just fine to me.

Someday when money is no object I may get a IPS or MVA but for now TN is good for me.

I would go with a 22", the 22" is much bigger and if you game your going to want the bigger monitor.

You can't change our pixel pitch.
