Difference between Xeon w35XX and e55xx

Anyone know what is the difference between these processors? I couldn't find any physical differences from the spec. Itsn't bloomfield and gainestown the same core?

The difference between the w35XX series is their power rated at 130 watts while their e55XX series has their higher ones rated at 95 watts. Also there are other small difference look at their details and models of each series. http://www.intel.com/products/processor/xeon3000/specifications.htm

W35xx = single socket.
L55xx/E55xx/X55xx/W55xx = dual socket.

3 means single socket, 5 means dual

What is the cause of the power draw improvement? Better manufacturing process?

Also, are the W35xx processors essentially identical to the existing i920/940/965?

better chips within the batch. AFAIK theres no hardware (microcodes are different) difference between the chips.
