Difference between the e8400 and the e8500?

Is there actually a difference between the two processors? Or is the 8500 just a OC'ed 8400? Im curious because im about to buy one of these things, but depending on if the 8500 is just a gimmick to get more money im getting the 8400.
 
Right, you get +0.5 on the multiplier. I've also heard that the e8500 generally overclocks better than the e8400.

Well yeah, it will inherently overclock a little better simply because of the higher multiplier. It may also have a better chance of being a good overclocker since it passed a higher set of specifications in order to be an E8500 rather than an E8400. On the other hand, for the price I would rather have an E8400 and save the extra cash.
 
Hell, for twenty bucks more, ill get the e8500. A higher multiplier is always good! Thanks guys.
