ok guys

i have a sapphire 9600pro with vga silencer rev.3,but im looking for something with a bit more horsepower, i have seen 9800pro's well cheap around the £120-150 mark, but im wondering if i just should get a 9700pro for £70 and upgrade to a nvidia 6600gt or ati x700xt early in the new year.

my question is, is there a big difference in performance between the 9700pro and 9800pro with a vga silencer fitted.

i only play games at 1024x768 with 2xAA and 2xAF

thanks guys.

I'd suggest springing for the 9800 Pro, it's worth it. Originally there was not much difference between the 9700 and 9800, but in newer titles it can pretty big.

Some games choke at those settings even with a 9800 pro.

Edit: hell even regular CS I drop to the 40's some times.
