I just ditched my 19" LCD (after only on week), after not being able to deal with even "minimal" ghosting. I went to Frys and bought their nicest looking 21/22" monitor, which turned out to be the NEC FE2111SB. So far the monitor is very nice. However, as I browse around here, everyone seems to recommend its slighly more expensive brother, the FE2141SB. From reading the specs on NECs website, it seems that the only difference is that the 2141 can handle higher refresh rates at higher resolutions (the 2111 can do 1600x1200 @ 85hz, the 2140 can do 100hz at the same res). Is that the only difference? I sit too far away from my monitor to run it at anything past 1280x960 @100hz so I am not worried about the difference, as long as thats all it is.
I have 30 days to return this one, if there is a significant reason to go for the next model up.
Also, maybe my eyes are just sensitive, but after coming from that super-crisp/sharp lcd, the CRT looks a bit blurry (my friends say they can't see it) around the edges. I know there are two focus adjusting holes in the side, anyone have any experience/recommendations for adjusting the focus? Will it help if only the edges are out of focus but the center is fine?
Thanks for any help!
