I've heard nothing but bad things (gaming wise) about the PCI-e x300 but would it be better or worse than a Geforce FX 5200?

I'm leaning towards the 5200 because it's AGP and that way when I get a new video card in my main computer I can throw my 9800 pro in the other one. But if the x300 would be a major improvement over the 5200 maybe I'll go with that.
 
The X300 isn't much faster than the FX5200, but it is there. I wouldn't call it a "major" improvement.
