difference between I5-2540M and I5-540M?

Hi,

I'm a it away from the "hardware" scene, so i'm not upto par about these new cpus. Both are mobile versions and it seems the difference is sandy bridge vs Arrandale.

So what the differences between the two?
Should I get the i5-2540M or the performance isn't very different?

Also if you can provide some graphs showing the performance diff, I woul'd appreciate it.

if everything is the same(i.e. laptop shell, ram, keyboard, design, IGP/GPU) and only the CPU changes, i would go for the Sandy Bridge.

but since its different architecture, probably 2 different laptops... i would post the rest of the specs as well

ya SB without a doubt you can see in link cifroes posted the SB one wins in every case.
