is they any big performance differences between the two?? i have a monitor that is only VGA, but i also have an adapter for a VGA to dvi.....

VGA has only analog RGB output. DVI has both digital and analog RGB output.
The digital signal is used for flatscreens, and with the adapter you can use the RGB output for older devices.
So there's no 'performance' difference (assuming you mean speed?)... but using the digital signal will give better image quality.

Bad question, cocky response. I agree with his answer, if he really wasn't lazy, www.google.com holds a wealth of informative sites and the search button helps a lot. Maybe even a visit to the displays forum.

Someone has to be the voice of "get off your butt and do something yourself" and I'm glad to do it.

Really, I mean a 2 minute search is all it would take, that's so well talked about everywhere.

gee, and in the time it took you to tell him to go search for himself, you could have given him an intelligent and informative answer...

have any of the "search for yourself" crowd ever considered that possibly the op DID search, and wasn't able to understand the various things they found (ok, this one is pretty simple, but speaking in general) so they decided to ask the self-proclaimed "experts" for an explanation??? maybe he ended up finding this site as a result of his research???

sheesh... cut the guy a break... so he asked a simple question... either answer it or ignore it, but there's no need to be a jerk...

There are exactly 0 people like that in the world that dont mention their searches in their threads and they provide links asking for clarification, not for complete explanations.

Since you are the self-proclaimed voice of reason here, why don't you fix a few things yourself:

1) Use the "search" function to learn how to spell - your idiotic sig states "Isn't it common sense to not breath in things besides air intentionally? Kids these days ..." -TheWhiteGuy. I would imagine you meant "breathe", which is the actual verb you could search how to spell yourself.

2) According to your sig, "Games I've beaten recently: Farcry, Starcraft, chrono cross, MGS, RA2, and RA2 expansion." Well, the reality is that if you "search" for "Farcry", you'll need to realize that the game is "Far Cry" Official Website, "chrono cross" is actually capitalized as well, being a title to a game, Official Site ...shall I go on, oh perfect one?

3) And this last part - oh, where to start... "Will pug for Head, #thewoc, 6 years, beta 5. I dare you to challenge me, bring an ip and you'll probably want to bring at least 2 friends". Do you also masturbate in the mirror while talking smack to those that just wanted a little help? Or maybe the op made a post in this forum to feel like a member, or start a discussion on something he would like to know more about while 'feeling out' a few of the members to see how this forum reacts to new people? But, that wouldn't make sense to you...you're a little busy in the mirror, I guess.

References to 1 and 2 were figured out using www.google.com - have a little crow and like it.
