Difference between DVD-R and DVD+R?

Sorry, I'm sure this question has been asked a hundred times around here, but I'm dying to know! I have a choice to buy a large pack of either DVD-Rs or DVD+Rs and I'd like to know the difference so that I make the right choice. Thanks in advance!
 
DVD-R have like 5% better compatability IIRC. They're both in the 90's tho and either should be fine. Now-adays it doesnt really matter IMO
