Hey there!

This is the first time I'm on this forum, and I could use some help.

I currently work at a photography studio, and we use DROBOs to protect our client's photos. Right now we're using 2 Drobo 5Ds, but we want to upgrade into an 8bay Drobo. On the market I can see there is a Drobo 800i and a Drobo 800fs. I read a lot of information about both, but I'm not understanding what the main difference is. Can someone help me with understanding the difference between them? Thank you in advance!

It's a direct connection over the network from your array to a PC. The hitch is that being a direct connection, the Computer thinks its local like an internal hard drive or a locally attached USB drive. The short version? The 800i is not for you.
