What difference is there between the 20 gig and the 60 gig version?

I want a hard drive but the elite is out of my price range. I have an HDMI cable. I want a hard drive and HDMI output.

What will the 60 gig version give me over the 20 gig? I don't anticipate making it an all in one entertainment center so....

It'll give you 40 extra gigs, that's about it. The packages may include different games nowadays, depends on how old the bundle is that you're buying.

It may be worth it to get the arcade, then buy the hard drive using Microsoft's special promotion deal.

The 60gb comes with a headset and a comonent cable. At retail prices, that almost makes up for the difference between an arcade and a pro or whatever they're calling the 60gb these days. If you're using HDMI, it's less value.

I picked up a 360 last week and ended up going with the 60gb over the arcade becasue of it. I wanted the component cables which is another $40. I could probably find one cheaper online, but I wasn't going to wait a week to play, so I would have picked it up at Best Buy with the console. So that put me at $240. The MS hard drive deal is $20, but they make you buy a 3 month live subscription (or so I hear), and thats another $10. So now you're looking at $270. So it's $30 for an extra 40gb of storage, or you can factor in the headsdet if that has any value for you.

However, going HDMI will make it much more appealing to get the arcade. If you don't need either the component cables (with fiber out) or the headset, you can save about $70 by going with an arcade and the microsoft upgrade deal.

Also keep in mind the Fall update will allow you to install and play games from the hard drive. If that appeals to you (like it does to about 99.6% of 360 owners), a 20GB drive ain't gonna do much for you in that area.

Any new console you buy will have HDMI output.

In addition to an extra 40 gigs of storage space, you'll also increase your odds of getting a Jasper 360 (as opposed to the Falcon). The Jasper 360s are apparently a little more reliable.
