it seems for the past week or two my points have take a nose dive. did they re-work how much some wu's are worth? i used to be able to keep a steady 3.5K~ average but now i barely manage 2.5k :(
 
If you've gotten any 2652s, they're only worth 1148 points. I just got my first one today and it's taking longer to process than 2610 and is worth fewer points.

1700 -> 1500 -> 1100......I don't like where this is heading.

 
Just a different cycle of WUs being sent out. Last month I had 400 and 500 pointers, this month all 186 and 206 pointers.

It's always goofy when this happens... Everything is still for science but it just doesn't seem like correct math :) when Something takes longer and is worth less.

On the other hand none of what I'm folding has changed including the point values and my last month was beyond bad, this month will end up somewhere inbetween. For that one I have no explainations.

Follow the links on [H]ardfolding.com and you will see past, present and future points trends. I know when running fewer machines you can see when they come into sync and when they don't. Sometimes I see one finished unit a day, some days, like today all 6 machines turned in work and on a really good day on or the other will turn in 2 in a single day.

Trust me, you are not alone. Let me add the last big points cut was due to people over in the Stanford sponsered forum complaining about points, so, don't do dat:D


 
I'm still getting some 1700 and 1500 pointers, but I have seen an influx of the 1100 point WUs. I'm not sure on the WU IDs, EMIII and FAHSpy don't seem to know what I'm folding when I'm running Win SMP.
 
Got those 2651/2652 on a bunch of machines but I won't complaint since they are being crunched faster. What matters is the average PPD. What took a bigger hit is the new 2608 and 2609 WU which may be worth 1300-1500 points but is harder to crunch than the 2610 without a large L2 cache.

On my E6600 @ 3.4 GHz, 2652 takes ~13 minutes per frame and 2610 takes ~10:50. That's 3 hours and 45 minutes longer to complete the unit for 400 fewer points :(

That's weird. On my E4300, it take ~15 mins per frame on 2610 and ~11 mins per frame on 2652 !

 
although I am running the SMP client almost exclusively, I don't mind seeing the point being adjusted downward a bit. The bonus for SMP was just out of this world.

how high do you have the 4300 clocked???
I have one at 3 Ghz that runs 2610 at 24 minutes and one at stock (I know,I know; the board wont OC) that takes 36 minutes.

Tell me about it... I have 3 X2 4200's and an FX-60 and thier PPD gets cut in half or less when they get an 08 or 09 :( . My E6600's chew right through 'em! :)

nope :( my farm has never ran so smoothly for such a long time and now that it does i see a drop in points :confused:

my entire farm resides under my roof and the only borg that i have is my work pc at work which is also running fine :confused:

i dunno, i guess i got used to seeing 3k+ average :D

i hope it's a temp thing.
 
Just got my second 2652 in a row on my main rig. Hopefully my other rig doesn't get them too. :(

 
I will try to find more data and post the results. With more infos, we can determine a pattern.

Did you check all the boxes to see if one or two is holding WU or just stalled ?


aldamon : I did a round of checks and so far, the T7200 laptops is running 19 mins/frame for both 2610 and 2652 so I'm baffled at your own strange difference.

a bad t-storm swepted dalles this morning and knocked out the power for a few hours so i decided to give them all a good going over and found NOTHING wrong :( :confused:

i don't know what happened. i was crusing happily at 3K+ ppd and now i can barely manage 2K with the same amount of systems. i have not seen any "can not send wu" errors on any of them and they are all turning in their wu's on time. if this keeps up i will have to sell most of the farm and up grade it. that is one headache that i don't want to go through. :(


i will give it a few more weeks and then i will have to think of something.

I see the same thing... and so does the stat reporter over at EOC. I wanted you to know that I have not changed anything... nothing new...

I have not added any boxen, so that is not a factor at play here.

God, what is going on with your farm? Are you using F@H Spy to monitor the clients? It will tell you if a client is stopped and can stop/start services if you take the time to config. But, maybe your not running windows os's either. Let me know, I am in your area and will bring you some boxen to overtake and hold Poca!!! :):):) (love you poca!)

God, on the Pent D run the smp, I have two 3.4 ghz Pent.D with 512 of ram doing smp's. What os are you running on the God?
