I'm planning on buying a laptop with 9400M chipset and the specs and everything looks pretty good but I don't want to be left with a laptop that will only last a few months before crashing on me. Does anyone know if nvidia ever fixed the chipset problem where the solder cracked after many heat cycles? or is the 9000 series not even effected by it?

They supposedly did.. I still wouldn't trust any 9400 mobile gpus period though.
