Did I get bad RAM?

I bought another 512mb stick of Corsair XMS 2700 from Newegg the other day. On my first boot with the new RAM it said memory failure or error and would reboot itself. I turned down my oc and ram timings and it was fine. I want to run my comp the way I had it before: FSB at 146 and ram timings were CL2-3-3-6. Should I send it back and try another stick or is there some kind of issue with my chipset and having more than 512mb of RAM?

I lost almost 3000 points in 3dmark01 since of upgraded my RAM.

in overclocking, YMMV.....it's possible your stick isn't upto the same standards as your first one....doubt it's a chipset issue...what you running?...

My chipset is SiS645. Check this out though. I got an RMA number from Newegg and I'm gonna get a replacement. So I have just my original 512 stick, put the timings that I want and bumped my oc back up to 2668/146FSB. Ran 3dmark01 and got the highest score I've ever had!

3Dmark01 comparison

Check out the difference. When I had that stick that I'm sending back I was getting all kinds of lock-ups and crashes. I hope Corsair didn't change something with this RAM that's gonna give me problems again.
