My mb allows me to use SATA2, is the DiamondMax 10 7200rpm 16meg cache able to run at sata2, or is it a sata 1 drive?
 
The DM10 and MaxLineIII have NCQ, but there transfer rate is capped at 1.5gbps "SATA-I" if you want to call it that. Doesn't hurt performance at all though, the DM10 is still at or near the top in ATA performance.
