I am looking to purchase a good diagnostic tool (hardware or software or combination of both). I know of such things as memtest and prime 95 and used them before but we cannot use freeware, we must purchase as a COTS type of product.

I heard of Micro 2000 but anyone recommend anything that is used out there in the industry?

Thanks.

I have been professionally working on all types of hardware for over 12 years. I have tried many products like the one you have listed. Nothing works better on finding a problem than spare parts to swap into a system to troubleshoot a problem.

I would suggest investing money in spare parts rather than this item that you have listed.(spare ram, power supply, CPU's, power supply tester, ect....)

I know people in the same boat as you who can't officially use freeware and end up purchasing some "certified" random off-the-shelf crap that goes in a drawer unopened so they can say they bought it, and end up doing diagnostics with multi-meters and spare parts.

You know why this is? Is the corporate world really pressing onto the IT world that hard?? Maybe the legal system is to blame?
