Diablo 3 - 2011

Hijack-Duke_Nukem_Mission.gif

Out of all of the Blizzard games, Diablo 3 is the only one I really care about. Hopefully we see it before the end of next year. I won't have time to play it if it comes out after I get married and have kids.

I don't care if it doesn't come out till 2012 as long as the beta starts some time next year. That will satisfy me.

What? Kids have a bedtime. Use it... well, there is the breaking in period in the first several months... where they wake up at any random time, but after that. Bed time = Gaming time.

Also, (at least for me) my wife was fine being alone after having kids (but not before kids). The kids overload her daily quota for attention. She has netflix and facebook. lol

"The game is already more popular than the first game ever was. Especially in North America."
Im sorry that statement is not true

Troll elsewhere (or better?), because you bash for the sake of bashing. Go to PM's if you want to discuss how wrong you are.

OT: Get the wife to play D3 with you, I'll be trying to get my gf to play, haha.

Kids sleep? They're always watching you, waiting with their tiny hand, waiting for a chance to get their hands on your brains.

Im really sick of how companies announce titles that are not even due for three plus years. Its almost false avertisement. All they do is build your hopes up saying that hey we are still making something. waited along time after they said there would be a sc2. came out wish I never bought it the game blows. and what pisses me off more is that its not complete they rushed it trying to rape money out of us. two more expansions? so the first starcraft came out with three campaigns. and only got one in this. sorry what a joke. blizzards done they have not brought anything new to the table in years. all of wow is just washed out warcraft talents no real thought went into it. and there new mmo if they are making one is just gonna be all wows ideas with new looks. D3 will be a large let down half as good as d2 was.

Haters gonna hate.

Seriously, just admit it, you'll never be satisfied with anything Blizzard or any other gaming company releases unless it's free and comes with a complimentary personal 19-year-old slut.

Here is a positive I have never considered before with children. Huh, who knew.

Those personal sluts, is that why Blizzard never gets anything done in an timely matter? :D

I'm not going to bash anything Blizzard makes, but I think they are quite overrated. Maybe that's why people feel the need to "balance things out." I would think that each of us have our favorite underdogs we praise and our list of the top dogs that need to be brought down a notch.

Heheh, seriously true, she's much more tolerant since kids. Much more. I wouldn't have guessed either. Probably also has something to do with her stronger desire to unwind. Easier to empathize maybe. Now when the kids are awake, that's different.

Haha I love you're quote at the top, because for me it's still hasn't set in that Blizzard has so much control. It's amazing that one massive title grew their business to the point I don't think anyone foresaw in 2004. I don't have much knowledge as to the WoW franchise, but I've always been impressed with Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft. They might be overrated in some aspects because of the expectations people have for them. But to me, they're one of the remaining few companies that make quality real time strategy games.

So your telling me that sc2 has been played more in the past few months then sc1 has in the pas ten years?

Blizzard and Valve are the worst offenders of this, but I agree to a point. I like hearing about what studios are up to, at the same time its really annoying when studios spit out a info left and right for a project that won't be out for a while (I'm specifically talking about Irrational). At the same time I'd be more accepting of it if they showed off more of the creative process that went along during those long development cycles. For example, I love what Super Giant Games is doing with Bastion in cooperation with Giant Bomb. Talking about more behind-the-scenes aspects of the game and even going so far as to show off an original prototype. I love that kind of stuff, it shows part of the industry we never really get to see.

For me, the far-in-the-future announcements, anticipation, rumors, and discussion are just part of a Blizzard/Valve game. One of those "getting there is half the fun" deals. We know it's going to be awesome, we know it's going to be worth the wait...we just have to be patient.

What Derangel says, I agree with. However, it's not the info they leak that peeves me. It's the projected release dates. Release info if you must, but don't give a release date to something you can't or won't deliver on time. It's like running toward the light at the end of the tunnel only to realize the light is moving further away as you near it.

SC2 has become way more widespread in a shorter amount of time than SC has (albeit because of the sc1 fanbase which helped it grow at a faster pace) but the popularity of the game just exploded the e-sports scene for both Europe and NA. How many times have you heard of foreigners being able to play at the highest level with the koreans in sc1? SC2 improves upon SC1 IMO.

I really hope flash and jaedong switch over soon, I want to see what they can do.

Blizzard does that every year, it's called Blizzcon. For the last three years Blizzard has shown almost all the design concepts and iterations Diablo 3 has gone through. I played D3 at all three of those Blizzcons and could see and feel the changes it went through. In 2008 it felt ok, 2009 it was meh, but this year it felt awesome and I played it as much as I could.

Check out youtube for the 1000s of Blizzcon videos.
