Hello,

In my event viewer in win 2k, about every five minutes I get the the event:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Dhcp
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1001
Date: 3/18/2007
Time: 8:29:18 PM
User: N/A
Computer: XXXXXXXX
Description:
Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 444553544200. The following error occured:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.
Data:
0000: 79 00 00 00 y...

This started happening when I switched my NIC from a static IP to DHCP and then back to it's original static IP (to do some testing of a wireless WAP). In device manager, the NIC is not listed twice (ghosted) and I have tried to remove it, then reinstalling it. I did the set environment variable and ran devmgr.msc and still did not show as ghosted. Any idea's?

Did you hard reset your modem/router? That will refresh your client table and it usually does the trick for me.
