DFX for Winamp - headphone question

i use winamp because i hate itunes for various reasons. put in this plugin called DFX and its f'ing amazing. blows away the equalizer built into winamp.

just a few questions.

there are two settings, headphones and speakers. the speakers setting makes it sound "normal" by my definition. when i switch it to the headphone setting, it gives this dome effect which i cant tell whether i love or hate.

anyone have any input on this for me?

are you listening to the headphone preset through speakers?

because I'm sure that would sound funky.

either way, it's a preset, aka, designed to attempted to sound good across a huge range of different headphones. if it sounds like shit, change it!
