Just a quick question to anyone that has the Lanpart UT SLI-DR board. If you have 2 cards in SLI, can the WC block (say either the swiftech or maze4) of the first card fit between the cards w/ ramsinks on the back of the 2nd? Or will if have to be a backplate? or wont it fit at all and youll need a bigger board like the asus' or the SLI-DR Expert? I want to get the expert but i have a budget limit and the board will be ordered on a certain day...if its not out then ill have to go w/ the sli-dr. Will the block fit? Thanks
 
You will probably have clearance problems. The slimmest big bore block I know of is the Silverprop SL Fusion... 19mm deep. The Maze4 SLI version is still 25mm deep.
 
25mm is that right? Or do you mean 25cm? What kinda clearance problems? Like will i get it If i put a backplate on the bottom gfx card instead of ramsinks?
 
Well my two Maze4 fit on the DFI SLI-DR. Actually, if you situate the cards right, they the screws of one will fit along hte edge of the other block. So, they both will fit, snuggly. However, due to some tensions, the cards will like to warp. That is where I use zip ties to tie the cards so that they are parallel to each other and not warp. They worked great unfortunately, one card got artifacts after 2 months of use. Since eVGA allows aftermarket coolers for RMA, it is going back.
But they will fit. However, to be sure, get the low profile Maze4 and you are all set. You really need only one low profile as the other one for the card below won't need one if there is no PCI card below it.
 
Can you say that one more time but better? Im lookin at the either the Swiftech MCW55 or the MAZE4GPU (not the low profile). WIll the fit in the SLI-DR in SLI mode? Say w/ a back plate on (stock w/ GTX)....and say again w/ ram sinks.
 
The only ones that will work for you are the low-profile maze-4 or the silverprop.
The poster above you said that even the low-profile maze-4 was a super snug fit.
 
In my other thread they said the silverprop was a really good one but where can I get one? Whats the difference between the HL and the SL? Will they work on the 7800GTX?

succinct and to the point, with the regular maze4s (two), they will fit snuggly with the backplate for 7800gts on SLI slots. Motherboard is DFI SLI-DR. Since the ram sinks are at locations that will not touch the upper maze4, space will not be an issue. However, you may want to invest on a side panel fan to get air to the ram sinks.
 
Id either have this case (where I have a fan that blows air directly over the 2 gfx cards) or the CM Stacker 810 where Id still have a fan that blows air in also including the 120mm fans in front. So the regular maze4 fits in there with RAM sinks? what about the swiftech?
