anyone familiar with the lanparty x58 ut board? i can't seem to get the board to load the os with two gtx295s installed. each card works individually, as do all of the pci-e slots. i've tried both cards with the installed toughpower 1000w psu as well as a 1200w bfg psu and still no luck. dual 5870s boot to os fine as do dual gtx480s. bios is updated, too. i'd hate to do a gtx295 sli vs 5870 cf vs gtx480 sli comparison in my hobbled x58 le system.

Do you have the latest STABLE BIOS? Maybe you are running an unstable BETA BIOS, so check that. Recently, I tried to run NVIDIA GPUS on my P45 Gigabyte board, and none of them would show video, until I updated to the latest stable BIOS. My beta BIOS that I had previously ran wasn't running NVIDIA cards.

I found this thread, so it is possible to run two GTX 295s on the board: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=147125

Does the computer boot and it just hangs on the Windows loading screen or does it not boot at all with the dual gtx 295s? Have you tried the second card in the middle pcie slot? I know its only 8x bandwidth versus the full 16x, so its not ideal.

the system starts to load the os. i get to the screen where the four orbs come together and form the windows logo then the system restarts. i've tried the second card in the 8x slot and it does the same. bios is dated 4/29/10. i came across some post about the memory low gap setting in bios. the system is at stock speeds, too.

It sounds like a driver issue if it is getting to the Windows loading screen and then rebooting. Have you tried booting into safemode to see if loading a generic driver works? Have you tried booting a Linux CD? I would try those two options and if they both work without issue try a couple of different video card drivers to see if any work.

no video driver is installed. i had to take one gtx295 out to install the os in the first place. popped the second card back in and the os wouldn't load. take the card out and the os loads fine. safe mode does the same thing. tried vista and it still restarts. haven't tried xp though.

turns out the memory low gap wachamadingle worked. default was 1500 and i raised it to 2500. now it boots to the os with both gtx295s installed. loaded the nforce drivers without a hitch. now i can get to overclocking the 920.
