Since I am using my PC as HTPC as well as gaming PC and everything else I really want to quiet it down a bit more.

At fist the fan was not that bad, or maybe I just never noticed... Anyways My question is if this custom block for the DFI expert can be used for anything else since I don't plan on keeping this 939 setup for more than 6 mo.
 
I guess if the mounting holes are the same and you have enough clearance you could reuse it. Don't see why not.
 
the mounting holes are not the same, but I'm curious if I could jsut purchase another top plate later for say $10 rather than having to pay the full $40. I emailed DD guess I will have to wait and see. I don't think when I first got the board the fan was spinning at7300 RPM all the time like it does these days...
if the block is not re-usable I may just go for a cheaper cooling solution like the iceburg to hold me over until I upgrade.
