Devil May Cry 4

Great game, i beat it on human mode in roughly 11hrs. About half way through on Demon Hunter now.

I will say ,after playing as Dante, i can't play as Nero.. annoying.
 
I just bought this for PS3 today...can't wait to play... (system is at home - i'm in college)

I agree with you. Nero sucks compare to Dante. Dante has so many abilities and specials he's just so much fun. Nero on the other hand is almost too easy imo.
 
on the harder difficulties, Nero becomes painfully harder to use. With no strong knockback moves compared to Dante, a lot of the stronger enemies tend to get the upper hand and priority in fights. It's frustrating to fight the Blitz with Nero.

Agreed completely. Nero is fast but not much in the way of knock backs (or they are part of LONG combos. Where as Dante is pretty quick about them... hell, DT Dante, Targget+Forward+Attack = Owned. Such a brutal move lmfao

I don't find blitz too HARD with nero, but definitely tedious. Have a full DT gauge and you can take out the electric field fairly fast.
 
If you fight consecutive blitzes or low on DT or stuck in a small room blitz tends to teleport A LOT. Makes spotting his attacks difficult because he sometimes teleports in "outside" of the room and you just get to see his attack. It drives me crazy because in 2-3 hits on DMD your practically dead from them. SoS gives you 2 extra hits to work with. Not fun. If I do take down his shield once, rest assured Nero + DT + buster = dead blitz, but he's not someone you can make a mistake with. I'd rather fight Mr Stutter over and over than the Blitz...

I've tried every trick in the book (like killing the chimera's first) but for some reason those damned lizards somehow hit me once. Which gun are you using and what are you doing? I find myself using the shotgun and double-jumping like a madman. Using the sword or even the devil transformation doesn't seem to help once the enemies are infected. They have that whole wake-up attack thing that seems to snuff any combos pretty quickly.

Use any gun and just keep moving. It's cake but, like I said, it'll take a little time.

I fricking loved the play Dante put on with him :D I never had trouble with him though... easiest boss for me. Credo was fun as hell on SOS though, so hard. wow
 
Awsome game, everything was really easy tho on Demon Hunter... except maybe de Board Game on the end ... died a couple times (probably bc my hands where stiff... played the last 8 lvls straight to the end)
Also i found the last booss (His highness or w/e) really boring and hard for me ... i could not know him down after he starts dashing ... he got his shield up way to fast
 
I hate Blitz. I find them harder than the bosses itself lol

Board game on the end is easy.. just do the dice trick and you don't have to even face any enemies but the bosses.

takes a bit of practice, but it's basically hit the dice when the number you want appears on top.

The only problem with this is that given reaction times and input lag between TV and game, this is not foolproof.

I can cut down the number of encounters I face, but 1 wrong dice move on the higher difficulties usually leads to a painful encounter with enemies and no real way to replenish health. I'm an avid anti-item user so it's pretty much I either S rank the round or I restart.
 
The dice trick is easy. Just remember that the numbers always go precisely 1,4,2,6,3,5 so just time it with your buster and then hit. I usually just time it like when I see 1 on top and I need 5, I anticipate 1,4,2,6,3 and when 5 goes on top I smack it with the buster. Never fails.
 
always thought it was random, oh well, should make life easier since I just got to the gauntlet on SoS mode. Oddly enough, I'm triple S with a lot of levels on SoS, at least with Dante. I thought I was doing well, would make like a good 3 million score, then I decided to look at the rankings. the japs are hitting 6 million in SoS.

WTF?
 
Whew...I finally completed Unbreakable. It ended up just being a case of luck with the second batch of enemies. They spawn all around you (making it pretty tough to jump around and shoot without landing on one), but I managed to get them all together and just keep blasting with the shotgun.
I'm taking the slow-way through everything as I want an A or S rank on every level with all of the side missions complete before I move on to the next level. All of those people that keep messaging me to play Tekken aren't helping, though :)

To chime in on the Dante/Nero conversation, Dante's combos are just simply easier and more varied. Nero's Devil Bringer's nice, but it doesn't make up for those Sword Master combos that can all link into the normal attacks or even the Gunslinger combos, too. There are just too many options...and they're fairly easy to do, too.

I'm in... the top 1000 of SoS mode and I've S ranked 17 of 20 missions... i can't figure how to make up for a 3 million point deficit!!! I've SSS ranked many enemies during combat, the 3 I've a ranked are time constraints and red orb hunting. I can't SSS them AND finish the clear time. It's damn frustrating.

edit. bring on the blitz, I've got only 2 missions left to S rank from A and a good amount of S ranks that can be improved upon. Blitz is pretty much a gift when it comes to stylish points. SSS scores from his kills are worth 3000 stylish points. I'd be lucky to get that much from a mob of 10 crows.

Fighting the blitz on low health and no DT though is a tough battle. One mistake can kill you just before you kill him. DT gives you dominance to end the fight in 30-40 seconds.
 
WooHoo bump :D

I Bought the game finally. So good. I played through SoS mode in under 8 hours, fucking great.

Tip for blitzes: Dante only, use sword master mode (2nd tier skills ATLEAST. ) And do RB + Away from enemy + B and two or three of those shockwaves will take out the blitzes shield :) Wonderful ability.

God damn this game is so fun. I can't believe i played mission 12 of DH through to the end AND all of SoS in a day 0_0 never have I been so motivated to rape demons before :eek:

So yea, hows it going?
 
Well since I've lasted posted I've moved into the top 200 of SOS mode and am playing brawl to unlock characters. I will finish off DMD mode once I do that and see where I end up in the rankings. Hoping for a top 500 finish in that mode. Learning to play with a new button config to adapt to the new style of play I use. Damn it's fun though you can just absolutely play in such a way that you can own all the enemies. It's ridiculously fun.

wow nice :D How about that heaven or hell mode eh? :eek: I laughed so hard playing the first few missions (Woohoo gold orb! *shwing* )
