It appears that Sony’s grip of exclusive titles could be eroding even further. There are now rumors flying that Devil May Cry 4 could be headed to an Xbox near you.

In its latest Investor Relations report, Capcom has revealed it plans to publish a total of 77 new titles across all platforms.

In its latest Investor Relations report, Capcom has revealed it plans to publish a total of 77 new titles across all platforms.

The report reveals that throughout 2007, Capcom expects to publish 6 new titles on the Xbox 360 and it expects them to sell 2,250,000 copies.

As soon as we learned about this number, we asked ourselves which games those six titles could be. We only counted three: Lost Planet, Resident Evil 5 and a Dead Rising sequel. What could the other three titles be?

It has been rumored that Devil May Cry 4 will only remain as a time exclusive for the PlayStation 3, landing soon after on the Xbox 360. That will give us four titles but then, what could the remaining two games be? Xbox Live Arcade games perhaps.

Marvel vs. Capcom or Capcom vs. SNK? 194X? Mega Man? Ghouls 'n Ghosts?

The only thing about a rumor is them saying that 'it has been rumored..."

They are releasing 6 games and I don't know what the titles are doesn't mean Devil May Cry is coming to the 360.

Doesn't mean it isn't doesn't mean it is, doesn't mean anything at all other than "I don't know what games they are releasing".

Maybe Capcom would let us know about the games they intend to sell us, guess we will just have to wait and see.

There are several sources other than this one commenting on it, but as always it is pure speculation until confirmed or denied by Capcom.

This particular article adds fuel to the fire that Sony may be losing some exclusives, which is why I linked it.

In fairness to your point however, you could be completely right, no one does know. It could very well be true that all the titles mentioned lately will remain Sony exclusives.
 
I'm fairly confident we will see DMC4 on the 360 about 6 months after it debuts on the PS3. Capcom is a heavy supporter of the 360 and for good reason since both of their recent titles (LP and DR) have seen 1+ million copies sold, the PS3 simply doesn't have the numbers for those kinds of sales and I doubt it will in 6 months from now judging by its lukewarm reception in the USA and Japan.

Game makers want to make money, and not having enough PS3s in homes certainly effects the bottom line.

I look at this as a plus for gamers. Now we don't have to own one of each console. :)
 
There has also been a rumor that MS is thinking of purchasing Capcom. So news of more 360 titles from Capcom comes as no surprise.
