i have one back up clone disk i use for testing many pcs. sometimes when i install into a complete new machine, it recognises all the new hard ware . but sometimes it wont auto install the drivers too . i have to manually right click and update each device driver which takes a while .

ie. stuff like iee394 , usb hub controller . pci host bridge , system clock dont need a third party driver , i just right click and update update all then windows xp pro reocnigses it and its all fine . but its time consuming to do it for 37 odd devices ; unless i just reclone on top which also stays away from this bug .

is there a way to reset or an option to make windows xp pro spk2 selft attempt to update it all by itself. in device manager rather then right click click uip date update all devices seperately ?

i was thinkiing reset or delete the hardware profile so everythihng resets , then device manager will reset and auto re scan everything on start up as if it was its first time starting up .

but i dont think u can delete hardware profiles ?
