I started a thread asking if anyone Is happy about a Deus EX3 being made and to post any cool links to stuff about it.
It looks like the thread got removed ? I need to read the rules again but I guess you can't post links to other sites ? Is that what I did wrong to get the Thread kicked out ?
Anyway, Are there any Deus Ex fans on here and do you have any cool DX3 news ?
Just a way to kill time since the game won't be out for some time.

I'm happy that Eidos Montreal is developing it. They've made some great games and I really hope that they bring the franchise back to its roots. It probably won't top the first game but it should be better than IW.

I'm glad Harvey Smith won't be touching this one.

I'm in a distinct minority when I say I loved Invisible War. I didn't play it until it was heavily fixed with patches on PC, however, so that could've been part of it. I also loved Deus Ex 1, though. Damn, I love this series. I can't wait for DX3.

There's a video trailer for DX3 (along with some interesting analysis) on Youtube. Looks like 3 could be a prequel.

Those are the links I posted in my first thread about DX3 that got kick off here, Was it because you can't post links on theses forums ?
Anyway check out the Youtube stuff it is cool.

You can post links just fine, provided that they aren't to sketchy sites. Perhaps it was lost during one of the many forum crashes..

I have so many fond memories of the first Deus Ex (which were promptly destroyed by Invisible War). I'm keeping my hopes high though for the third; hopefully they acknowledged the issues with the second and moved on.

Eh. Call me jaded but I don't have much hope. For one thing, they'll probably say that the 'issues' aren't really issues but rather just PC gamers complaining. They've succeeded in creating a console game and that's what matters to the bottom line. Granted, they could still make Deus Ex 3 a good game, but I'm reasonably sure that it's not going to be great like DX1.

I'll post the link to the Deus Ex3 forum again and see if my thread gets Kicked..
They say the Dev.s read it everyday and realy do want to hear from Real Deus Ex Fans.
I think it would be a good Idea to sing-Up there and start putting your Ideas in.
They have put up polls on the use of Uni-Ammo and other important things. No suprise Uni-Ammo is getting a BIG NO from Fans.
So lets all go there and start giving them input about the things we want and don't want in DX3.

Thanks for the link. Deus Ex 1 was the greatest game of all time. I have already beaten it twice this year already.

I remember when DX1 came out and thinking the future would have alot more games as great as it and with future PC Hardware even better than it. Here we are 8 YEARS Later :(

If Deus Ex 3 was a exact 1:1 copy of Deus Ex 1 with an updated graphics engine such as the Unreal3 engine, I would pay $100-150+ for that game. I am serious, it was that good. I would easily get my monies worth.

From what I have been reading Deus Ex 3 maybe a pre-quail to Deus Ex 1, which would be a great story line.

I can't wait, I just hope they don't consolize it too much.

The problem with IW wasn't that it was consolized, but because it was full of bugs, interface problems, and framerate hitches, even on the console version. If you play it now on PC with all of the latest patches and community patches, you will enjoy the game so much more. I promise. It's clear that they had to rush development in the end. That's all. The framework for a deus ex 1 level game was in IW, but they had to cut it short, which was obvious.

Deus Ex 3 shows every indication of a healthy development process. I don't think it'll have the same problems.

How about a "1:1 copy of Deus Ex 1" with the Crysis eng.:D:eek:
There are people that still play Deus Ex1 Over & Over again, so yea people probably would pay 150.00 for a Crysis eng. remake of Deus Ex1. Think it would be very cool.
Also, People that never played DX1 and refuse to play it now because of out-dated Gfx would buy a Crysis eng. Deus Ex1 re-make by the truck load.:)

YES, when I go to the Deus Ex3 forums that is the Vibe I am getting.
You also feel like they realy do want Fan input, Like they are realy reading the boards and care.
They say they even read all the old Deus Ex boards from all around the net.

I felt that the smaller levels in IW took away a lot of the atmosphere that was in DX, which was the result of using the Xbox to develop the game. The rest of the problems were just bad design decisions, which pissed off a lot of fans. Harvey Smith even admitted to fucking up the game:

Don't forget that it was the engine that limited the level size. Thief 3 used the same engine and suffered from the same problems. However, I love both games in spite of the fact that they don't adhere to the original expectations for them. They're just really different. Both games on release were terrible. That engine was TERRIBLE. Patches and updates helped though, and after that I played through and enjoyed them.

Thief, 1998 I think it was. Thief came out years before Deus Ex. What a great game it was.
When I play Deus EX, I can always feel Thief in my bones. When you play Deus EX, Thief is watching you, Thief knows it made you the Deus Ex player you have become...LOL

I liked Deus Ex 2 but it just didn't hold true to the original.

Thanks for the video. It sounds very promising that they know they fucked up and they seem to know how to fix it. Their forums do have a vibe that this game could be as great as the original. A great "buzz".

Tell your friends who don't have Deus Ex 1/ didn't play it, that it is free next week.

If updated properly, I'd be right there with you.

I agree, that was one aspect of it. Thief 3 (technically, "Thief: Deadly Shadows") suffered the same problem, as mentioned by infornographer, due to being based upon the same engine and its Xbox oriented level design. At the time it was released, Thief 2's "Life of the Party" (the mission with Angel Watch) impressed me with its size and was far larger than anything I recall in Thief 3. Level loading (and the potential 'cheating' that it brings with it) completely ruins the immersion for me, in Thief 3 (still a great game, despite this) and Deus Ex 2 (fairly mediocre, even ignoring the level loading).

I never realized Harvey Smith took some blame for dashing much of the potential of Deus Ex 2, but I largely blamed him anyway :D.

When Harvey Smith talks about the Skills & Augments in Deus Ex 1 opposed to BioMods in Deus Ex 2 it is so cool and so True to hear him talk about it and he realy did learn from it. "I am the Auquatic Guy, I am the Aquatic Guy"...That is a great Line:):D:)
And a great video post dark_reign, Thanks for that.

Looks like Dues Ex just hit Steam, or at least my first time noticing it. Its only 9.99, think I may pick it up, since I hear its one hell of a game. Is Deus Ex: Invisible War the second game?

I actually started to play Deus Ex again last week and it works fine under Windows Vista. If you have a Creative sound card, EAX does work via ALchemy. Just add the game path to get it working. This is this first time I played it with a 5.1 sound system and it does add more atmosphere to the game.

I remember playing the original game all the way through and then getting to the end. I ended up making a special save game so I could play each different ending again without having to do a whole lot. I haven't played it in several years but I still remember that game as being one of my favorites. DX3 as a prequel with better graphics and all the ideas that made DX1 awesome sounds like a great idea to me. (Never played DX2, just didn't seem like it was of the same mold as DX1).

Play DX2. It is not nearly as good as DX1 but it has its moments. It is not as bad as people make it out to be. It was just such a monumental step backwards for the franchise. It is still a decent game.
