I am a student worker at the IT dept. of my university and I suspect some of the other kids in my office have key loggers on the machines in here. Is there any way to detect/remove them? I have NAV Symantec AV Corp. edition or whatever, but it doesn't find anything... what do you all recommend? I would love to format the machine, but just isn't mine to do that....

Spyware Doctor checks for keyloggers. Check it out. It isn't free though.

Can it detect both Software and Hardware loggers or just software?
I guess it doesn't matter that much because you can always look at the PS/2 and USB ports to make sure there are no additonal devices, but if you were checking remotely...

if your wanting to check for a hardware keylogger why dont you try looking around the computers... if you want software to find a software keylogger try going to http://www.majorgeeks.com/ ..take a look around see what you can find

Why would you say that?
There has to be some sort of software inerface to the hardware logger in order for the user to get the info off the key...

A proper hardware keylogger should forward what it receives from the keyboard, bit for bit, and store everything in a buffer (to log).
The software for getting it off should not need to be on the target system, that can be reserved for the system receiving the log.
