Posting this here as I "think" it's a mobo issue.

For some reason my PC will not recognize my external USB HDD. It works fine with every other computer I've tried but when I attempt to connect it to my desktop I'm greeted with this error:

USBDriveError.jpg

I figured maybe I didn't have the correct USB drivers installed on my Asus Rampage II Gene but when I try to install them I get yet another error (which I can't take a screenshot of)... saying the version isn't compatible with my version of windows (I'm on Win7 64 bit and am installing the 64 bit drivers).

Any ideas?

Sometimes it makes big diference which USB ports are being used. Some of the USB devices may have too much power draw for USB ports located at the front of the case. I find ports at the motherboard IO panel best to use with external hard drives.
