I will be buying a laptop in the next month or so and have been thinking about selling off my desktop. Currently I have a C2D e6550 at 3.4Ghz, 4 GB DDR2 and 1 4850 512. I am happy with this setup and am wondering what price range I would be at for something simular. I have been looking at http://laptops.toshiba.com/laptops/qosmio/X500/X505-Q865 How would this compare in gaming to my desktop?

If I part out my desktop I have about 1500 dollars to spend. As far as games I play it is all over the board. The only constants are WoW and COD 4, WaW. I would like to be able to run out to a 37 inch tv for movies. Thanks for any and all advice.

If you pay cash, you can get the following for about $1500, probably one of the best gaming laptop out there atm.

Asus G73JH-A2 17.3" FHD/ATI HD5870 GDDR5/i7-720QM/8GB DDR3/1TB 7200rpm/DVDRW/W7HP64

Newegg had a version with only 1 hdd and no bag nor mouse and only 1 year warranty, for $1419, but they jacked up the price due to how well its selling, ASUS G73JH-X1

If you dont wish to spend that much and willing to so sacrifcie some gpu performance, also check

Asus N71JQ-A1 17.3" WXGA+/i7-720QM/ATI HD 5730 1GB GDDR3/4GB DDR3/640G 7200rpm/Blu-Ray/W7HP64

Asus N61JQ-A1 16" HD/i7-720QM/ATI HD 5730 1GB GDDR3/4GB DDR3/500G 7200rpm/DVDRW/W7HP64

Agreed. Any of those Asus models Abula listed will be a better deal and better laptop than the Toshiba. The G73 is probably the best price to performance laptop available to date.

5870 Mobility <= desktop 5770 which is > desktop 4850.

e6550 2 cores 2 threads. 65nm.

i7 720QM 4 cores 8 threads. 1.6 regular 2.8 speed stepped. 45nm.

Asus > your desktop.
