Anyone doing anything with desktop cases, regular size not mini-cubes, these days? I am thinking "outside the tower" for my next PC build.

Yes, I put spikes on my Travla C137 case and added a front bottom vent. Then I installed a crossflow blower fan to provide cooling for a videocard in the cramped space.
 
First mod will be to try and fit a 12" x 8" window on top. Might just fit but would know for sure if I will be able to clear those duct/fan openings until I get the case in my hands.
