OK, so while I wait to buy my computer, I was wondering what I could do with my desk in regards to cooling. Inside my room it is is cool 70.1F (21.2C) degrees. Inside the computer storage (with the door closed) its even cooler at 67.1F (19.5C). I was thinking, in order to maximize the coldest I can obtain out of it, I could line it with some kind of insulator. Which ones, what kind, whatever I was hoping you experts could help me out. Got any ideas?

once you put a computer inside the enclosure in the desk, expect it to get much hotter in there, even more so if the door is closed. further, if you were to line the inside of it with some sort of insulation you will do nothing but trap the heat inside that enclosure and probably just make it hotter.

Yeah, I don't understand what you're trying to accomplish with the insulation. The only way that might do anything is if you were directly air conditioning whatever space you were insulating, and you don't want cold air to be lost to the rest of the room.

oh, so I guess I do nothing. What I meant for the insulation was to trap the cold air inside, but I guess that won't work when you put a computer in there.

what they said is dead on. its gonna get pretty warm in there. personally, the first thing i would do is cut out some of that rear panel. if you prefer not to, you might at least want to consider cutting out some of the top portion or the rear panel to allow the heat to escape.
