Anyone here have a Denon S-model receiver? Those would include the 710W and the 730H.
My trusty 710W is (of course) now out of warranty and received a firmware update last week. Upon receiving it, my Xbox One immediately started having sound issues. Bitstreaming audio would randomly crap out when changing channels, swapping from TV to gaming, or swapping over to Netflix. When used with my PC and other HDMI inputs it would work flawlessly one minute and then the audio would die and not return between uses. Muting the audio and unmuting it worked at first. Then I had to power it off and on. Then audio just straight up stopped working on Saturday. I called support and they pretty much told me it was toast and in need of a repair...which takes an average of 2-3 weeks and isn't cheap.
So I decided to go and grab a newer 730H instead. It's essentially just a newer model. Out of the box it's great...but it ALSO got a new firmware that's a totally different number. Similar issues after the update, but not as extreme. Weird hiccups with bistreaming and swapping between content. Luckily it's only bitstreaming and only on the Xbox One.
Anyway, anyone else have this issue? If not, I'd also suggest not updating your firmware either automatically or manually.
