I must say, this receiver sounds a LOT better than the Onkyo it replaced (TN-NR636). It's clearer, less harsh, and the soundstage seems more precise. Not too shabby at all for $300. I just needed something that can do HDR but better sound is a bonus.

The 400 series (1400,2400,3400, etc) also allow for the Audyssey MultEQ Editor App which allows you to log in to the reciever and manually adjust a ton of the curves that the receiver comes up with during Audyssey auto set up. I just learned about this app last week and have not had a chance to mess with it. I have the Dayton OmniMic from PartExpress that would allow me to measure the frequency response. But something like REW would also work for less money (cost of a decent USB mic).

EDIT: Looks like the 300 series also can use this per the Denon website.

Can the calibration mic that came with the receiver be used for that?

I think the included Omni mic is ment to be used with it.

With the normal built in Audyssey for sure. I’ll have to get back to you, but I’m guessing you need something external to measure the response. The initial curve is set by the included mic. I just don’t know about getting feedback to visually tweak the curve afterwards.

I purchased a high end refurbished Marantz receiver from them and had problems with the HDMI connections cutting in and out. I found this in testing in the first week and contacted Accessories4Less and they blamed my theater's RedMere HDMI run which was around 25ft.

I tried to explain that I also tested it with a 5ft run and saw the exact same issues, but they refused to exchange the receiver without me first buying an absurdly expensive cable from them that would "fix" the issue. I opted to not do that and instead had it repaired by Marantz which resolved the issue.

I recently purchased anther receiver for my living room upstairs and I went with Costco instead. They are much easier to deal with if you encounter any problems.

Shitty of them, wonder if you got a bad tech or their support is just bad on average.

It was a combination of two different reps. The rest of the purchase process seemed okay, but I don't think I will personally be shopping with them again any time soon. Through that experience, I also found out that it was very difficult to find an authorized Marantz repair center in my area (within reasonable driving distance).

That's amazing! That comment may have just made me consider only getting Denon receivers. I have a pioneer receiver that never got an update after the newer model came out, and its definitely got some bugs. Occasionally it won't display video, or audio when you switch the input source. Turning it off and back on again fixes it.

Didn't get the X2400 last week but picked up the X3400H from Fry's on Sunday.

Very big upgrade to my 10 year old Denon but I will be using the old one in the garage now :D
