Delta Force: Xtreme

I've bought all of them in hope that Novalogic would redeem themselves after Land Warrior or whatever it was called. Alass, they haven't yet. I won't be getting this.

That's why I'm getting it. I'll give them one last chance.

I really liked Delta Force 1 & 2 back in the day but haven't played any of their games since.

I was holding out hope that they could keep the core DF1 gameplay with updated graphics. Even if it's $20 I'll wait till I read a couple reviews.

I thought that everything was going to be the same as the original df1 and allow us to use higher res graphics.
I do hope that they realize that every time they have "enhanced" the game they have screwed up big time.

ONE SCARY THING
why NO reviews or beta test on the game sites???????
just a few pics and an add

yesterday was the day,,now today...anyone know when is when;;;;;;;; yes its now a definite maybe for the 22nd

^^ good info. The 1998 stuff is just a blast from the past but whatever!!

You guys have peaked my interest. I've never even heard the thing was coming.

I bought most of them after they were 'older'. I don't think I never played more than 2 or 3 hours with any of them. The whole IPX thing over Internet never made much since either. I'm sure this game will be IP though.... for $20, it might be worth a look.

For $20, this is definately worth a look. Although I'm wondering if

Powered by today’s gaming technology, Delta Force®: Xtreme™ brings the classic Delta Force game back to life to face the enemy once more.

means that all they've really done is convert the old DF stuff to the newer JointOps engine.

I may take a gander at it...I played the original 2, plus Black Hawk Down and I enjoyed them all.

I played and enjoyed every minute of Delta Force Black Hawk Down and Team Sabre, cant wait to play Xtreme since i missed the first DF's :(

one last post from me before tomorrow when the game hits shelves(supposed to be the 21st but doesn't look good)

This quote from the developer kinda has me scared.
USER FEEDBACK!!!!! I always hate to see that

QUOTE HERE##########

Weapons and ammo:

advanced targeting
- Modified and intuitive Crosshairs, change colour to signify that you hit the target successfully.
- Rifle zoom is back to the original picture in picture.
- Physics we added some ammo improvements to optimize bullet spread from the original .

Joel - To compliment the Delta Force style of close-up combat, we have added new ammo and physics to the series. These physics are completly differant from the Joint Operations series, This was nescassary as Delta Force is a differant style of combat. Bullet physics were optimized to better match a close-up more accurate aim. In the office we had alot of ideas based around feedback. We decided to bring in a lot more feedback into the game. Now the crosshairs change color whenever the player hits someone. This even works when you have the weapon up in iron-sights. We have made steps to ensure the we are giving the player enough feedback to have a good time.

******
to me USER FEEDBACK means that the developers F'd it up and if someone says something they have someone to blame it on.

and usually user feedback is 10 yr old whiners in this type of game saying I die to easy.
why do they kill me? I am going to tell my dad.
I don't have a scope or I have a saw and everyone is tooo far away.
take out grenades...they suck.
why can the person I am shooting at shoot back?

*****
YES THEY EVEN PUT IN VEHICLES
*****

when they use the words "added new ammo and physics " This means that IT IS NOT the original.

this also says OH HELL
"optimize bullet spread from the original "
it can be we had to modify the new engine to match the old or we made the old work like the new. so ????

Overall this is looking bad

Well I am going to stop by eb or bb and get it on the way home.
Will post thoughts tomorrow.

Unless you are dying to try it and expect a df1 game wait and I will post

IF it isn't a df1 clone with better graphics just stick your head out the door
about 8-9pm and listen...
YOU WILL KNOW lol

Well I picked up the game.

The single player is a lot like the orignal.
BUT they did put in some vehicles. It does not
change the game. The ai is just a stupid as the original.
The weapons seem to be a little more inaccurate at range.
I was surprised at the sounds in the game. I remember the
funny footstep sounds... they made a very weird and destinct
sound when you ran. They sound exactly like it in the new version.

Graphics were nice, the grass and such makes it a lot harder to detect
the enemy. SO the people who shouted about snipers in the original
will be happy to know that it makes it more balanced on that end.
Maps, I knew the first mission, it looks exactly the same but of course
with grass added. Enemy and buildings were the same.
I could not recognize some of the maps because a LOT of trees and
grass and fields had been added to them.

online I don't know what I saw...not a lot of people online, of course its
new. BUT I would say that 50%+ were invulnerable. HACKS ALREADY???
maybe online testers or hell if I know but it was a BS experience.

Those 50% that were invulnerable were probably just out of range for your weapon. Someone tested them out and found that these were the maximum ranges for each weapon:
Saw- 400m
M4- 325m
M16- 351m
MP5- 150m
M82 Sniper- 676m
M24 Sniper- 630m
Pistol- 54m

If you're any farther away, you can not hit them. Hopefully they'll patch the game so that you can at least hit someone farther away if you aim high enough.

yes their is a weapon limit now....I am somewhat glad to see it.
BUT its still not the original.
I was not impressed with the range limitations. In the respect that no matter
what you did you could not kill any further.
Have not talked to my friend who found out that although all the weapons
M4 M16 and SAW all shoot the 5.56 mm in the original game it took 2 hits
from the SAW to kill a person and 3 from the M4 and M16
Not sure if this is the same in the new game.

===========================================================
The people I saw online were different ranges...I hosed one guy with
a saw at close range...NOTHING
after about 100 rounds at less than 10 feet in the back I gave up.
He killed me with one shot.
