Does this apply only with purchases direct from dell, or also purchases of dell products from other vendors? For example, ebay (brand new, with warranty).

I don't want to risk getting stuck with dead or stuck pixels. I can't stand having any.
 
Count me in as I am curious as well because now I have to return the 2009WA that I received last week in Canada which cost 369 plus 13% tax and I reordered the same 2209WA for 219 which went on sale today just for one day.
