What is dell's dead pixel policy. I just bought a 2407 which will be getting here around Friday and i'm worried about getting a dead pixel

also has anyone with a 2407 had dead pixel(s)? Should I be worried?

I haven't read it, but when I called tech support about a different matter and asked that, they said over 5 dead pixels, and they send a replacement. My monitor was for the 2007 though, but I assume it's the same.

I thought over the first 30 days they would replace it for any reason including just one dead pixel correct?
And can't you buy a an extra protection plan that would enable you to return it for a replacement after the 30 days?

If you find a dead pixel in the first 21 days, just call them and say you want to return it, no mention of dead pixels. They shouldnt ask why and if they do, say you dont like it or decided you cant afford it or your mom / sister / cat don't like it.
Order another one once they give you a RMA.

You can return it. They'll give you a hard time if you say it's for one or two dead pixels. Tell them the colors are off or etc and you don't have much trouble getting them to take it back. My first 2405 had 2. I got a second one with none. DHL took it back to them by picking it up as well.

This is worrying!

Im sorry but is it wrong to expect a perfect display with no dead/stuck pixels?

If there's one dead pixel is should be returnable, that's not right.

I've ordered my 22" Samsung, if it's got any dead pixels this sucker is going back!

agreed, I spent $640 on this thing I want it perfect

Damn straight, when I spend $500 and more for a high end LCD, I expect NO DEAD PIXELS....period. Nada. Zip. Zero.

These companies need to get it right, take back the ones with dead pixels and sell them at a discount with a disclaimer that it does indeed have X amount of dead or stuck pixels. Lots of people would love to have a $500 display with a couple stuck pixels for say, $350.

Well, I just recently received my Dell 2007WFP and it has one blue stuck pixel on it. It's not really that annoying, but I'd obviously prefer a perfect monitor. I'm having a hard time deciding on whether or not to exchange it for a new one. :( I feel a little apprehensive about doing so because of the S-PVA rumors and that I could just end up with a worse off monitor.

If you receive a dell monitor with a dead pixel, as in singular, call them up, tell them it's imperfect and they'll send you a new one with a shipping label to ship the old one back. I sent 2 1704fp's back in succession because the colors didn't match correctly to get ones that did.

Yeah, I'm thinking about doing this. I mean, I spent over $300 for this monitor, I want a perfect display too. :(
