Well, I just bought a new laptop. I wanted something SUPER portable, small and powerful in the applications area.

So I bought this

It was at the right price point - I could have spent up to $1500 and it seemed to have what I wanted in it. Now It's been a while since I was in the laptop business so I need to know what you guys think of this laptop. I have read a few reviews and this SEEMS like it would be perfect for my application. I will be stripping Vista off of it and installing XP Pro - it will be used as part of a small mobile studio project. Basically I am one of the co-owners of a local sound business here in the Phoenix Valley and we offer a free 2 channel mix down of the entire night - so I need something to stream 96k audio tracks to. I am fairly certain that I can do 8 @ 96k with the 7200 rpm drive thats in there, but HD's are the last of my concern - it was processing power.

So anyway - tell me your thoughts and if you think I made a bad decision.

nice price. I paid 1100 for mine with a T5600, 1gb, and a 5400rpm hdd from dell outlet and I love it.

Rad. I want to find a 9 cell battery for it instead of the 6 that it has. Also do you know if I can throw on the Accidental Protection Plan? I would like to pay Dell for another 2 years on it. It still has a little under 1 year left on the current warranty.

I paid 1169 for mine "scratch and dent" although it has absolutley nothing wrong with it cosmetically or otherwise and it has the following config..

Amazing little system that handles everything I've thrown at it so far. In class it's small enough not to be obtrusive and on the go it's portable enough not to worry. Great purchase that I am very happy with. Enjoy yours!
