Dell XPS Lights-Case Mod

looks like 4 leds to me. Cut 4 small holes anywher there's room. Put a track of LEDs evenly spaced and boom, instant Dell. jk:D

...you could probably get by with a short cathode giving light out holes that size for the right affect.
 
Hmm. OK thanks. The hard part will be figuring out where to make some holes look good.
 
Radio shack has some decent surface mounts for LED's too.

EDIT: You'll probably want some wider dispersal LED's depending on where you go on the case...
 
that's the only place I see but it wont fit in that spot, rather cut holes or the entire space and put it behind to give a glow effect. That area in itself gets a lot of light from the blue mounted fan though.

Might be able to pull off a CCFL there, i've never seen that case back there, can't comment.

LEDS: "normal" LEDs have about 15* brightness, very bright coming straight out the top, but not on the sides. 45* ones are out there, and much better if you want to cover a wider area. You may want narrow or wide depending on the look you want.
